Playing the Chiron planetary gong is always a privilege and a powerful experience. The overtones and the singing notes that spin off the face take me straight out to a cold dark place in space. A lump of rock, barely light on one side and in darkest, blackest shadow on the other. The tendrils of sound drop me gently onto the hard dusty surface.
From the darkness I can hear crunching and knocking noises, like hooves clambering over the rocks and stones. This is punctuated by a more human-like grunt and snort as a painful leg is jarred on a hard outcrop or gets caught in a pothole. Following the sounds, I clamber into the darkness. The sounds are louder now and I can smell the sweet warmth of a horse`s coat. There are no words spoken but guttural sounds begin to surround me in the dark. They get nearer, until I can feel the breath on my face. There is no menace, but more an inquisitiveness as the entity sniffs the air around me.
Gently, a hand touches my face and I try not to jump. There is an exchange of energy and I feel an intense sorrow and sadness which I know is both his and mine. This is then followed by a growing feeling of wellbeing which wells up from the area of contact and spreads through my entire body. It is as if all my blocks and hidden wounds were being dissolved away. The hand leaves me.
I am aware of the sounds of the gong again and the ground disappears from under my feet as I lift away. Bit by bit, the room I had left materialises and I`m back with my own community. There is a knowing, a belief, that I have brought back at least a little of that healing I had experienced to be shared by everyone here.
