June and I have been away for a few days retreat to catch up with ourselves and as a beautiful added bonus we attended a Sound Bath with the lovely and gifted Craig Shankster in Machynlleth. The hour of drifting in sound and losing ourselves was just what we needed (but didn`t know it until then!).
This week has highlighted for us the need to find retreat on a regular basis; the need to step back in order to see the bigger picture; the need to connect with spirit. In receiving a Sound Bath we helped that process along too, sort of accelerated the progress to de-stress. Our own journeys with sound usually result in deep, profound, relaxation. We lose connection with our bodies, lose worries and lose limitations. Simply, we leave the world behind and time passes in an instant. We like to believe that we connect with the cosmic self and the vastness of the Universe, that`s the connection with spirit.
Our week has been a time with no time, no reason to be anywhere except in thought or reading or in meditation. The results of this will gradually permeate the Chiron, not in a concrete way but just in how we are, in just `being`.
In visiting Craig, it was a rare event to be a `receiver` rather than a `giver` and has prompted us to find out more about the unique experience each individual has during a sound immersion or gong bath.
We know what our experiences are and we`d like to know more about yours.
We are asking for your help for a bit of feedback. Are your experiences similar? This not about collecting testimonials or soundbites, it is a genuine curiosity to learn more about your experience being enveloped in the vibrations from gongs and bowls. Many of our friends and clients have received sound from other players too, so it`s not all about us, any commentary would be useful.
Please leave a comment, or FB message us, or email. We will treat any private words in confidence.
