Permission to take what you want.
Why do people walk through our door, lie on our floor and let us play strange instruments around them? Well, there are a variety of reasons people come to experience a `gong bath` or `sound immersion`. Some, because they want to find relaxation and reduce stress. Some, because they want to find a place of healing. Some, because they want to journey and find answers or clarity. Yet others because they wish to make a spiritual connection.
Increased well-being can be found in a number of ways through sound. We know that there can be a profound feeling of calm and relaxation following a sound session. This, in itself, is a reason to come. We also know that many clinical illnesses are stress-related, so there is also a clinical benefit from finding ways to relax.
We believe that healing of the ‘whole’ person comes from within, so there is an element of finding a place of self-healing through the meditative process. There is a growing body of evidence that sound has a part to play in physical and emotional healing.
We also believe that sound has a role in healing spirit as well as our physical body. In this more shamanic way people can journey with sound to learn about things on a different plane. Many clients report these journeys following sessions.
Most people are surprised about how physical the sounds are, this is not like listening to music, and how quickly they find relaxation. It`s a strange thing, but time seems to pass in an instant whilst being bathed in the vibrations of the gongs. Some people are so relaxed that it takes a while before they can speak!
People do ask what they need to bring to a first session. The answer is always to bring an open heart and willingness to receive. More importantly though is that everyone is encouraged to only receive what they want to, to only take from the experience at whatever level they wish to.
